St Helier also failed to meet the standards set by the assessment in the area of safety and cleanliness and was not making enough progress to enhance safety for patients, staff, and others. There are also two assessments that were not met dealing with how long patients were waiting to be seen. Many people had to wait longer than 26 weeks to begin receiving treatment once diagnosed and longer than 13 weeks to be seen by a specialist.
Mr Burstow has written to the administrators of both hospitals to request a meeting to discuss possible causes and resolutions for the problems. He is questioning why such poor ratings were given to the hospitals for the use of their resources.
"I want to know why St Helier did not meet at least one of their financial targets for 2006/2007.
